Danderyd Hospital is Leading the Green Transition in Swedish Healthcare – NCSH Member on SVT Rapport

On August 5th, one of our members could be spotted on the TV screen: FrostPharma!

Henrik Alfredsson from WoodSafe® was interviewed in a feature by SVT (a Swedish public service television company) at Danderyd Hospital, discussing the importance of taking action on plastic use within the healthcare sector.

Every year over 4 million hazardous waste bins are sent to combustion – only in Sweden! This makes it the third biggest source of plastic waste in the healthcare sector, right behind gloves and aprons.

Danderyd Hospital is a frontrunner when it comes to taking initiatives for sustainable healthcare. The hospital is already working with programmes for reducing fossil-based plastic waste, including the recycling of aprons and switching to WoodSafe hazardous waste bins.
