NuGreen Innovate are developing a low‑carbon, circular alternative to clinical waste incineration.
The project transforms sterilised clinical waste into a high‑performance aggregate suitable for construction materials such as asphalt and concrete. This innovation has the potential to divert significant volumes of NHS offensive waste from incineration, saving up to 16,902 tonnes of CO₂e annually while reducing reliance on virgin sand and easing pressure on global resources.
