The API Workshop Report From Alignment to Action: Co-Building a Harmonised Framework for Sustainable & Resilient Pharmaceutical Procurement
The API Workshop Report captures the outcomes of a high-level, multi-stakeholder workshop convened by the Alliance for Procurement Impact (API) initiative during the Nordic Sustainable Healthcare Conference in Malmö.
The report highlights the urgent need to move beyond fragmented, price-driven procurement toward a shared, practical framework that embeds sustainability, resilience, and supply security into pharmaceutical tenders across Europe. Drawing on insights from public buyers, industry, policymakers, and experts from more than 16 countries, it sets out concrete next steps, including the development of a Strategic Tender Toolbox and AI-enabled pilots, to translate aligned ambition into scalable, operational change for healthcare procurement systems.
Interested in becoming part of the initiative?
Stakeholders now have a unique opportunity to move from isolated initiatives to a coherent, practical framework, one that strengthens supply security, accelerates sustainability, and builds lasting value for healthcare systems and the pharmaceutical ecosystem alike. We are seeking additional funding partners to expand the initiative’s reach, deepen participation, and deliver more targeted activities.
