4th DAPHNE Interregional Learning Event

Ełk, Poland | 18–19 March

The Interreg project DAPHNE (Decarbonising Healthcare in EU Regions) reached an important milestone with its 4th Interregional Learning Event, held on 18–19 March in Ełk, Poland. The meeting marked a key step forward as the project now moves into its implementation phase.

The event was officially opened by Deputy Mayor Mirosław Hołubowicz, together with the Executive Director of the Association of Municipalities Energy Cities, setting the tone for two days of collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Sharing best practices and real-life solutions

The first day focused on exchanging best practices from across Europe, with contributions from Poland, Belgium, Italy, Greece, and Ukraine. Participants also took part in study visits to:

-Pro-Medica City Hospital
-The Municipal Heating Company in Ełk

These visits provided concrete insights into how local systems are working with energy and healthcare in practice.

From learning to implementation

On the second day, project partners presented their progress in policy improvement through a dynamic elevator pitch format. This was followed by interactive discussions and a participatory wrap-up session facilitated by Resolvo and NCSH, acting as expert advisory partners in the project.

About the DAPHNE project

DAPHNE brings together 10 organisations from 7 EU countries (Italy, Romania, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Poland, and Sweden), along with partners from EU candidate countries Serbia and Ukraine.

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of six public authorities at national, regional, and local levels to design and implement more effective policies for decarbonising the healthcare sector.
