The General Hospital of Larissa is a key healthcare pillar in Central Greece, with a capacity of 312 beds and 800 staff members.
Their strategic goal is to transition into a green and resilient healthcare institution. The General Hospital of Larissa is already implementing the largest energy-efficiency upgrade of a public building in the Region of Thessaly. The hospital is also advancing circular economy initiatives, including recycling programs and greenhouse projects, while applying a green procurement policy focused on biodegradable materials.
In addition, the hospital has developed an award-winning traceability system for hazardous waste management. As part of its long-term strategy, it places a strong emphasis on research and innovation, with the ambition to participate in European programmes supporting climate mitigation and the adaptation of healthcare systems to climate change.
