Earlier this year, Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare (NCSH) participated in WHX Dubai, one of the world's largest healthcare events, bringing together healthcare leaders, innovators, policymakers and industry representatives from around the globe.
The event attracted more than 219,000 professional visits, featured over 4,100 exhibitors and welcomed representatives from 195 countries, making it a unique platform for international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Representing NCSH, CEO Daniel Eriksson participated as both a speaker and moderator, engaging in discussions on the future of sustainable healthcare and the importance of collaboration across sectors and borders.
A Global Perspective on Healthcare Sustainability
Reflecting on the event, Daniel highlights the growing international interest in sustainable healthcare and the increasing need for practical solutions that can be implemented across healthcare systems.
"What stood out most was the strong commitment from healthcare organisations worldwide to move from strategy to implementation. Sustainability is no longer a future ambition – it is becoming an operational priority. At the same time, there is a clear demand for collaboration and knowledge sharing across countries and sectors," says Daniel Eriksson.
The conversations in Dubai reinforced many of the themes that NCSH continues to work with across the Nordic region and beyond, including sustainable procurement, innovation, implementation and cross-sector collaboration.
From Global Insights to Nordic Action
The experiences and discussions from WHX Dubai will continue to shape upcoming NCSH activities.
On 27 August, Daniel Eriksson will host the NCSH Crash Course in Sustainable Healthcare, providing participants with practical insights into healthcare sustainability, current trends and key challenges facing the sector. The course serves as an excellent introduction for organisations looking to strengthen their sustainability efforts and gain a better understanding of the healthcare landscape.
The crash course also offers a valuable opportunity to prepare for the 8th Nordic Conference on Sustainable Healthcare, taking place on 1 October 2026 in Malmö, Sweden.
By connecting global perspectives with Nordic experiences, NCSH continues to create meeting places where healthcare stakeholders can exchange knowledge, build partnerships and accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable healthcare system.
